R 65,J,T 5 SchulerS.89, Transcript of Sep. 15, 1989 letter, printed out witha too weak ribbon : Dear John, you are welcome to put my essay on Canadian banking onmicrofiche, if you wish, on the usual nonexclusive basis. I hopeto write a Ph.D. dissertaion on the subject next year, if allgoes well. I have moved,..... I too would like to see some sort of database of articles andbooks on monetary theory such as you mentioned in your letter. The American Economic Association has an economic literaturedatabase, but that does not include older articles and books (i.e., before 1972 or so ), which one can only research in boundvolumes. Furthermore, that database includes only articles inacademic journals, and hence misses much historical anddescriptive material that is interesting. There is also adatabase of working papers in economics, but the way that Imyself hear about most unpublished material is through word ofmouth. Sincerely, Kurt Schuler.
