This is a sentence I like!
"Of course, there is a great deal to protest about today. But before the honourable tradition of direct action can be rehabilitated, we need some clarity about the nature of the current global crisis. That requires reflection and debate, rather than the rituals of ignorance that go under the name of ‘protest’."This sentence is by Frank Furedi, Professor of Sociology at the University of Kent in Canterbury. It is from an article in spiked. Very topical to me when I consider how my friend Uwe Timm, editor of Espero, has been attacked the last few days by an example of such ignorance, Gerold Flock.
