it's later than you think... :-)

the two previous entries do not yet show the local summer time, as I had forgotten to change this before posting; it has to be done manually as this content management software or, to fly lower, blogging software, does not catch it from my computer's time.

a tiny problem, but again one created by the government, who else... those aces in blurring traces!

“Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.”

[William Shakespeare (1564–1616), Hamlet, Prince of Denmark; Marcellus in Act I, Scene IV]

In my favourite country, imagine! Since a couple of years, even Denmark and the Netherlands, the two most non-conformist and independent countries, in almost all their ways, in Europe, and which were always the first to introduce new steps for freedom and happiness, whose people know how to live and let live and are champions of conviviality (in the sense used by Ivan Illich, though they are good in feasting too), have followed the general world-wide "trend" of reducing liberties, piling up new laws and both court and administrative decisions to that end, duly orchestrated by the big media, those jumping jacks of governments and puppets of occult forces we are all suffering from.

All this to "protect" us. From what? From ourselves and not our abusers, as they are the abusers themselves, mainly of our individual sovereignty. Those peddlers of "protection" are like the Mafia, being paid the same way, with (tax) money extorted at gun-point. And, to paraphrase Thomas L. Knapp (see http://www.butterbach.net/privacy1.htm), yes, folks, even in Denmark, it's all "for the chilllllllllldren". That we may remain children all our lives, to insure that our Nanny the State does not become unemployed.

See as an example the press release in the previous post. Now, be consistent, prohibit paedobaptism! As the little ones similarly, as supposed, cannot give their consent...

By the way, I normally use the spelling paedo- (as in paedophily or paedagogue) instead of the more common pedo- (as in pedophily or pedagogue). As this shows the correct etymology of the word, stemming from the Greek pais/paidos, and not from the Greek pedon, otherwise one could not so easily distinguish between pedology meaning the science that deals with he study of soils and pedology meaning the scientific study of the nature and development of children. I even wanted to show those Greek words in Greek letters, but I do not yet know how to include the necessary ancient Greek accents with the letters on my page, when coding, if at all possible. So I preferred to leave this for the time being. You will survive it. :-)

Copenhagen, March 21,  2004

Press release:

The Danish Pedophile Association has been dissolved

Today, the Danish Pedophile Association has stopped all activities, including the maintenance of the website www.danpedo.org and www.danpedo.dk.

The background of this decision is a recognition of the unfortunate fact that the organization's work has been made impossible. Not least because of widespread feelings of insecurity among the group's members after the massively negative media coverage the group has been receiving perpetually. Also, the group can no longer maintain its most important function - the anonymous telephone counseling - because nobody dares to associate their phone number with something that is connected with pedophilia, and because many potential clients no longer dare to call.

During the last couple of years, there has been an ever more harsh and unreasonable criticism of the Pedophile Group's legality in the media. This culminated when Minister of justice Lene Espersen decided to ask the Attorney General to inquire whether the Pedophile Group could be dissolved by a court decision.

According the the Danish Constitution §78, an association can only be prohibited by law if it seeks to achieve its goals by using violence or similar illegal  ways to influence those who disagree with it. The Danish Pedophile Association has always emphasized as its foundation that its operation must be open and in full compliance with the law.

The goal has been only to offer counseling and information, as well as inspire serious debate on pedophilia, as a counter-weight to the dominating attitudes in our society. The Pedophile group has never advocated or attributed to any criminal activity. Therefore, we are quite confident about the fact that the Attorney General may continue his investigation of the organization, even though it is now closed.

It is with the greatest regret that we have chosen to take this drastic step, because society has never taken care of the serious problems that people with pedophilic tendencies experience, despite the massive front against this group of citizens. The Danish Pedophile Association has throughout its history been dedicated to support its members in showing responsibility. We fear that this function, which has been important to many pedophiles, will no longer be performed by anybody.

This press announcement will be available at our web site during a limited time span. The group is dissolved as of today, and all activities have ceased.

This decision has been made by a large majority of the organization's members. The list of members has been destructed.

Questions and answers:

Since you are now closing down the Danish Pedophile Association, aren't you admitting that the organization wouldn't be able to stand the investigation by the Attorney General?

No. The organization has been under heavy surveillance by the press as well as by the authorities for years. We have got inquiries from the police about our activities and, most probably, the organization has also been under surveillance by the police intelligence service. It makes no difference that it is now the Attorney General who has been asked to examine the organization. Furthermore, the Attorney General still has the right to investigate whether the organization previously has been involved in activities that could justify a legal action. The dissolution of the organization does not free anybody of the legal responsibility for their former activities, and hence does not prevent an investigation. The invariable fact is, however, the the Danish Pedophile Association has never been involved in any illegal activity.

Are there other reasons for closing down the organization?

Yes. The organization has been practically defunct since 2001. There have been no meetings. There is no counseling any more. There is no more money. And we have been effectively excluded from debating in the media. We are simply taking the consequence of these realities.

What should society do with the pedophiles?

The closure of the organization leaves a very urgent need for counseling of pedophiles. For years, we have tried to make the politicians understand how important it is to counsel these people. But we have been speaking to deaf ears. We are now sending a strong appeal for the establishment of an anonymous counseling service for pedophiles, in order to prevent the worst human tragedies in the future. Most pedophiles live a perfectly legal life. For too long, the debate has been characterized by witch-hunting, while nobody has offered useful solutions that take into account the fact that persons with pedophile inclinations actually exist, whether society likes it or not.

Isn't the dissolution of the organization a cloak for Continuing your activities underground?
No. The activities of the organization have always been public. Before the debate about our organization reached such a level of hostility that the security of our members were threatened, we held at least four public meetings per year. These meetings were even announced in the newspapers. Furthermore, anybody could become a member of the organization. In the last time, the only activity of the organization has been the maintenance of the website, which by its very nature is fully public. The Danish Pedophile Association has never had any activities that could be continued underground.

Are you going to make a new organization with a different name?

We have no plans to do so.

All other countries have banned organizations for pedophiles. Isn't it reasonable that Denmark does so too?

Our opponents have often claimed that Denmark is the only country in the Western World that allows an organization for persons with a pedophile inclination. This claim is simply untrue. There are several pedophile organizations e.g. in Germany. In the Netherlands, pedophiles are organized under a general sexuality umbrella organization. Even the USA, which is known for its extremely harsh treatment of pedophile citizens, has such organizations thanks to the freedom of speech guaranteed in the constitution amendments.

“Love Breaks Barriers”

...is the motto chosen for the 11th Europride in Hamburg

Berlin mayor Klaus Wowereit attended press breakfast at the ITB

Hamburg – This year’s Europride [it is not the pride of the €uro that is meant here! :-)], the cross-frontier Christopher Street Day (still known to some as "Stonewall"), will already be the eleventh in the series, with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg as the venue. Under the motto “Love Breaks Barriers“ organizers Hamburg Pride e.V. are laying on a host of sporting events, street parties, discussions and charity functions. With the borders with the countries of Eastern Europe constantly dwindling, the hosts opted for this powerful motto. Comments Stefan Wesemann, deputy head of Hamburg Pride e.V.: “Frontiers in Europe are becoming more and more transparent. What we need to do now is to dismantle the barriers in people’s heads.“

Many "leading personalities" have already accepted invitations to the Grand Opening Gala at Schmidts Tivoli Theatre on June 4th, among them Lilo Wanders,Wilhelm Wieben, Rainer Bielfeldt, Kay Ray, Olivia Jones and Geschwister Pfister (all or most names may not mean much to persons outside Hamburg, Germany or Europe, but I think that I can recommend them all!).

At the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin, Europride 2004 was naturally at the 3rd Gay & Lesbian Travel Expo (GLTE), where you could visit us in Hall 25, on Stand 116, and on March 12th for breakfast (09:30-10:30) with Klaus Wowereit, governing mayor of Berlin.

Registration forms for the parade and the street party can be ordered from info@hamburg-pride.de.

As you know or should know,

Hamburg is the Gateway to the World ~~ for Germans... That is where they easily can leave it, Germany I mean, and as some say here, it is the gate to the world, but only the gate. ;-) But a gate works both ways.

So, between June 4th and 13th the Free and Hanseatic City will be welcoming over 500,000 people to celebrate a unique event together. The occasion for this is the 11th EUROPRIDE, or the pan-European version of the main CSD celebration, under the patronage of Hamburg's governing mayor (prime minister) Ole von Beust.

For centuries the Hanseatic City with its port and international trading tradition, has been famed for its openness to the world and its tOLErance. But this tOLErance is not shared by everyone, as I well know. Sometimes there is too much tOLErance in relation to those that are intOLErant. The lesbian/gay community occupies a firm place in Hamburg life. Especially the lesbian. :) And especially that part of the community which can and does spend a lot of money. But this may be universal these days.

In 2004 Hamburg's community will be evident in all its almost infinite variety. Along with the party and the parade, its whole cultural and sporting side will be amply and openly on show for the visitor. Districts such as the gay village of St. Georg and St. Pauli with the world-renowned "mile of sin" Reeperbahn [das war einmal, oder da war mal früher viel mehr, man lebt noch von dem Ruf, von Salambo und Co ~~ "die säzzerin" :-)] represent a standing invitation [stante pene hingehen! ~~ "die säzzerin" :-)] to enjoy an extravaganza of sheer teeming life and colour. Its different institutions and societies, bars and clubs, restaurants and stores are already limbering up today and thrilled at the idea of greeting waves of EUROPRIDE visitors in Hamburg.

WELCOME TO HAMBURG!
