The above is a graphic variation of Follow_The_Sun_6.JPG on the previous page, while Sunflower3.JPG on the previous page is a flower created by Oronzo and sent to me for my 65th birthday (September 3, 2003). This last work on the preceding page finishes the cycle. This first online exhibition is now complete.
Oronzo's next exhibition in meatspace will take place 9 January through 1 February 2004 (preview on Thursday 8 January 5-7 pm) in beautiful magic Titirangi, West Auckland, New Zealand.
An extra was added on December 29, 2003.
In the meantime the exhibition in Titirangi is over. Here is a report on the opening of the exhibition:
The vernissage was a huge success. In spite of the beautiful weather and the holiday season many people did show up. At the beginning two friends (a young couple), very talented musicians, played classical music (cello and classic guitar). Then Oronzo spoke for two minutes and after his speech declared the exhibition to be open. There was a real awesome cool buffet (kewl, not cold), that thing you miss so much with my online exhibition, but Oronzo's girlfriend had seen to that in Titirangi, as she is sharing Oronzo's talent for good food and both are also into catering professionally, as a sideline at least. Oronzo used his camcorder a lot to document the event and another friend, who is a photographer, took many pictures. The vernissage had been preceded by an interview with the local paper. It appeared on January 14. During the party lasting two hours, Oronzo could already sell two of his sculptures. Whether he sold some more, I do not know yet. He will tell me when he arrives in Hamburg on March 19. In his luggage he should also have some cool (not cold, but hot!) pictures from the Sidney Mardi Gras Gay Parade on March 6, the world's largest (no comparison with the one in Mecca!), he is visiting for my Gay section. Art is everywhere. So is beauty.
